I told you I was busy. . .

I look back at that last post from January 5th-- in it, I said that elders in my life were needing some help--
and a few days later, one of them had a stroke.
I have been juggling two or three or four lives ever since.  The elder, here, is not a family member, so it is not rip-your-heart-out sadness I feel for him, but he has long been a friend.  And he had recently asked me to be responsible for him "if anything ever happened"-- formally, in documents.  So I work through the regular-strength sadness to keep his affairs in order and talk to his medical team.

So---pshewww---that's what I am doing lately.  That and tax prep at my usual wintertime job.  Not too many hours yet, there. And uh-oh, someone has forced me to sign up at Facebook.  I've only peeked, really!

The pleasure of this week is that since DH had a minor knee surgery, I am also back to being chief animal feeder and tender, so I do get to scratch a few sheep chins and monitor mama hen's progress on a clutch of chicken eggs.  It's a soothing balm for the sore work I am doing for my old friend, Paul.

Sounds like a labor of love; Paul is so blessed to have a friend like you! When you come up for air, let me know if you've sent of Leo's fleece sample for testing.

Praying DH is back in shape soon. Life always takes unexpected turns. Your elder friends are fortunate to have you to look out for them. I expect tax business will really pick up next week and then soon it will be Spring, right?

Sometimes it just doesn't seem to stop. So then you are an accountant? I hate numbers, they can be so depressing:( So you tried the facebook thing? I have been getting pressured to sign up esp. from friends who are on that farm game....like I have more time for another farm. Hope you find time to relax a bit this weekend:)

I love Facebook, it is wonderful for keeping up with what is going on in people's lives. Great photo sharing as well. Best part, you can CHOOSE who you interact with and block any crazies.
But I don't play the farm game. I have my own real farm to manage! :) Whenever someone invites me to play the farm game on FB I offer them the opportunity to come over and muck some real sheep poop, but so far no takers.

I'm glad you have your sheep to sooth your soul. They helped me when I was sitting in the rain with them. Hang in there, after tax season come the lambs. More chins to scratch.

Hey, nice to hear from y'all. I'll be heading into wild week again after this weekend, when I stayed here and took care of family and sheep.
Em and I shoveled tons of wet snow and moved the 4 rams to where we want 'em today.
Kristi-- I'm not an accountant, I'm a licensed attorney who never practiced. I took a lot of tax, like it, worked for H&R Block before passing the bar. It's a job that exists out in the country, comfortably part time/seasonal.
Hmmm, Facebook. I'm still sidling up to that one. ;-)

I like FB too; however, when my friends or family complain that I am not on it enough, I tell them to check my BLOG. It is a good thing you did for your friend. It's tough to be in that chair though. Both of my hubby's parents are in the hospital right now. In Florida. Yikes. We will have some decisions to make in the upcoming months.

Wow, sounds like you are very busy. How wonderful for you to help your friend. And how wonderful to have sheep to talk to when you are stressed and tired. Hang in there ... spring will come someday.
